SCHOLARSHIP FAQs

What STEM majors are eligible?

Eligible majors include computer science, engineering (all disciplines), mathematics, physics, chemistry, cybersecurity, management information systems (MIS), and C4I-related fields. Medical, nursing, and adjacent healthcare fields are not eligible.

Do I need to be accepted to a college before applying?

You should plan to enroll full time in a four-year STEM degree program at a U.S.-accredited college or university. Final enrollment verification may be required if selected as a scholarship recipient.

Are SAT or ACT scores required?

SAT and ACT scores are optional. If submitted, they are collected for informational purposes only and are not the primary academic evaluation factor.

Who should write my letters of recommendation?

You must submit two letters of recommendation. At least one letter must be from someone other than a guidance counselor, such as a teacher, mentor, employer, supervisor, coach, or extracurricular leader. Letters should include specific examples supporting your readiness for a STEM field.

What does my guidance counselor need to submit?

Your guidance counselor will be asked to provide academic information, including your GPA and relevant coursework, through an automated request. This submission is required for your application to be eligible.

How is financial need evaluated?

Applicants submit a short financial need statement explaining anticipated costs, expected contributions, funding gaps, and how the scholarship would impact their ability to pursue their education.

What happens if my recommender or counselor misses the deadline?

Applications are not considered complete or eligible without the required letters of recommendation and guidance counselor submission. Applicants are encouraged to follow up early with their recommenders and counselor.
