April AFCEAN of The Month

Alfred Ortiz
AFCEAN of the Month

Support Staff Specialist, VOSAGO

Alfred is a Support Staff Specialist with VOSAGO, a Woman Owned Small Business (WOSB) providing Staffing and Information Technology Services (including Cybersecurity and Software Development) to clients in the Federal Market Space. Alfred joined the Communications Committee as the Social Media Manager in July 2014 and has been eagerly engaged ever since. He helped create significant increases in publicity for the AFCEA DC Chapter through the use of major social media platforms (LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram) as he captured pictures, speaker quotes and member reactions at each chapter event. Alfred was instrumental in developing and implementing a strategy for outreach through social media and social networking; arranging for photographic coverage of meetings, symposia, and social events. He has been one of the key contributors to the Chapter’s Marketing Strategy for 2014-2015, and the success of its implementation. As a first-year Young AFCEAN, Alfred certainly made strong contributions to the Chapter as a whole.  On behalf of the DC AFCEA Chapter, we extend Alfred a sincere “thank you” for a job well done. In addition, we invite you to follow his lead, and...GET INVOLVED in AFCEA today!

Casey McCarthy
Young AFCEAN of the Month

Capture Manager, KGS

Casey joined AFCEA in November 2013 through a professional recommendation and has been involved with volunteer opportunities at the Chapter and Young AFCEAN level ever since.  She has been a participant in DC Chapter luncheons and summits by volunteering her time wherever needed.  She has taken an interest in the leadership aspect of the Young AFCEANS and has recently been elected the Treasurer for the Young AFCEANs heading into the next year.  We are excited to have Casey’s insight and leadership to continue to grow and enhance the Young AFCEAN team within the DC Chapter.

Casey works as a Capture Manager for Kforce Government Solutions (KGS), supporting the financial management, accounting, and professional development business unit. One of her most important responsibilities is to act as a task order manager. In this role, she supports the needs of Government clients by matching them with KGS and teammate capabilities. While you can find her at many AFCEA DC events, Casey enjoys getting to put her data analytics and research skills to the test.

The KGS Headquarters office is located in Fairfax, VA. KGS is a whole-owned subsidiary of Kforce Professional Staffing, a $1 billion, publicly-traded corporation providing IT and Finance and Accounting Solutions and Services to the Federal Government.

On behalf of the DC AFCEA Chapter, we extend Casey a sincere “thank you” for a job well done. In addition, we invite you to follow her lead, and...GET INVOLVED in AFCEA today!
